Day 17: flamingos on ice

After the wake up call at 5am we were ready for another day in the wideness off Uyuni salt flats.

At least we had a good night of sleep! We were not that cold and we were only woken up once by the mouse on our ceiling. While we drove the sun rose giving the unic landscape a beautiful color. First point of intrest was a still active vulcano. Although no sign of any activity was noticable. Following the volcano, we visited some lagunas with flamingos. The flamingos had beautiful pink colors and gave the mountains in the background some extra flair.
Whilst driving the temperature kept dropping and by the time we arrived at our place for the night it was below zero. To start the evening well we went to the local shop to buy some beer and with the good company of our Brazilian and American friends the cold was quickly forgotten.

Until we had to crawl in to bed, undressing was not the most pleasant thing to do! So with still a lot of clothes on we slipped in our sleeping bag for an other cold and short night.
