Day 15: day at leisure

It was a bumpy ride on the unpaved roads from La Paz to Uyuni. But in the morning we arrived in the little charmless town.

We found our Hostel very easy and our room was already available! Lonely planet said their were only 2 sights: the clock tower and the military museum so we decided to do a little power nap to catch up on the lost sleep.
The room was cold (but that's normal here) and we were glad we could snuggle under the warm blanket.
At 11u30 we convinced ourselves that we had to go for lunch, so we started to do some research on tripadvisor and in the lonely planet. Now armed with a list of favorites, we went to the main town square, sadly our whole list seemed to be closed for lunchtime. So we took a random place, which was a bit odd looking. When we entered the whole family was watching tv in the restaurant area. But at least the service was quick and they were not watching any gross surgery programs. So we ordered one big coke and our food. The waitress came with our big coke, a 2l bottle, indeed it was quite big, luckily we didn't order a second big drink! Despite the quirky setting, the food was good, except one thing was bothering us. On the door there were several signs indicating that there was wifi and the possibility to pay with visa, both of which were false in the end.
Anyway, we continued our trip and browsed a bit at the local market. We strolled around the little town and soon we came to the conclusion that the lonely planet was once again very right! After this we enjoyed the remaining heat of today on a terrace with a beer.
We finished this interesting day at minutemen pizza and once again we sought the comfort of our warm and cosy bed.
Tomorrow and the 3 following days it will be cold as we are going to explore the salar de Uyuni!
