Today we left for Copocabana, Bolivia, by bus.
4 Hours later we arrived at the border of Peru, where we officially exited the country. Quite bizarre, you get off the bus, stand in line for half an hour and a stamp later you are cleared to cross the border, by foot of course. 5 min later we arrived at the Bolivian immigration office where we waited once more for half an hour. Now cleared to enter Bolivia, we entered the bus and drove to Copacabana. Here we would go to Isla del sol, to discover the birthplace of the first Inca King. A bus ride (in Bolivian style, Elien almost on the bus driver his lap and Joachim operated the hand break) and a boat ride later we arrived at this mystic place. But we weren't impressed, actually it was disappointing, because of the short time we could spend here. The island does have a nice trail from south to north, but you would need a whole day. So after our short visit we went back to the peninsula of Copacabana. Luckily time flew by, while we were chatting with some Irish girls on the boat. We finished the day with a nice dinner in our hostel. Tomorrow to La Paz, the highest capital in the world.
